- De-coil with a straightener — hand-straightened coil loses tolerance and cover accuracy
- Verify grade per coil tag before mixing into bent stock
Storage & handling
- Store coils upright on dunnage, strapped; a loose coil is a spring — cut straps with care
- Lift with a C-hook or through-bore sling, never by the outer wraps
Care & maintenance
- Use within the season; long-stored coils develop scale that wears bender rollers
